Mineral Walk

Limestone Fossil is a sedimentary body based in Limhamn who collapses the boundaries between biology and geology, life and death, through its origin and structure of shellfish remains of marine animals. Limestone can tell stories from 65 million years back, for the one who listens.

Petra Lilja is an industrial designer and curator and currently a PhD-student at Konstfack and KTH.

Since graduating from Pratt Institute, New York, she has explored different ways to combine her creative driving force with her deep concern about the negative impact design has on the planet. She worked as design lecturer and program director of the Design + Change Programmes at Linnaeus University. For four years she ran an eponymous galley in Malmö displaying art, design and research. She is a jury member of the annual Swedish Design award UNG and its equivalent in South Korea. Petra is a member of the Design & Posthumanism Network and The Posthumanities Hub.

Anette Væring is a spatial designer and art director.

Since she graduated from K3, Malmö University and KADK, Copenhagen she has explored how design can contribute within governments and society to empower people and bring aesthetics into new fields. She collaborates with the architecture agency JAC Studios around concepts for nature exhibitions, mostly UNESCO heritages. She is deeply inspired by indigenous nature philosophy. 

This network engages with posthumanism in design practice, education and research. We are designers and scholars, based in Sweden or its neighbouring regions, who want to nourish our curiosity and belief regarding the need for designers to pay better attention to non-human earthlings like other animals, plants, and everything in-between and beyond. Together we want to explore how design practice, education and research can grow and thrive in contact with posthumanism – and how designerly and artistic skills, methods and approaches at the same time can contribute to posthumanism.
