Object + Time = Urban Canvas
The exhibition Urban Canvas explore functional objects around the city that aren’t meant to be decorative, but by time and the environment around it become just that.
In a series of photographs architect and designer Christian Wilke present electrical enclosures that thanks to this urban exposure has turned into abstract and beautiful paintings. The photographs will be printed on semitransparent material and placed in the windows of the restaurant Saltimporten Canteen.
The prints also feature QR-codes leading to the object’s location, encouraging the viewer to explore it and in turn possibly new areas of the city. The idea is to make the city into an outdoor gallery, and to invite curious viewers to unknown places. The quest to see the object live, gives the representations an extra value.
