Workshop

Undesigning Meat-Eating Desires

Chair

Multispecies + Future-making = Undesigning Meat-Eating Desires

Do you want to stop eating other animals but find it hard to quit? Eating the flesh of others can be like an addiction. Sign up for a one-to-one hypnosis session where you will be guided towards less harmful eating habits.

Erik Sandelin works with human-animal relations in design. In his PhD project at KTH and Konstfack he is currently exploring a trajectory of “not”: not consuming them, not wearing them, not using them.

We usually think about design in positive terms: innovation, production, things. In the future we may pride ourselves on what we do not do. Human exploitation of other animals urges us to work towards a human-decentring design: a gracious design characterised by leaving be that takes pride in carefully crafted not-doings and un-doings.

Pre-booked sessions only! Sign up by email through the button below. Sessions are free of charge and can be conducted in English or Swedish.

Hypnosis is a state of mind where a person is receptive to “suggestions”. The hypnotic state is an everyday trance-experience, like daydreaming or being fully immersed in a book or movie. The hypnotised person is always aware of their surroundings and cannot be manipulated into doing anything against their will.
