Architecture + Transnational Diversity = Malmö in the World and the World in Malmö
Malmö in the World and the World in Malmö combines architecture and transnational diversity. By producing collage images pairing Malmö and the cities where the participants come from, accompanied by brief descriptions, IDAS, International Designers and Architects in Sweden, wants to explore what kind of ideas and emotions arise in the audience.
These emotions and ideas, in turn, can open for future debates and new perspectives regarding the role of diverse cultural backgrounds in Malmö’s design and built environment, and regarding the identity perception of the citizens as well as the identity of the city itself.
The images produced by IDAS for this exhibition combine places from Malmö with the addition of buildings from the cities that the participants come from. And vice versa – images of IDAS members’ cities intervened with buildings from Malmö.
Malmö in the World and the World in Malmö will collect feedback from the audience using a guestbook open for them to write comments, thoughts, feelings, ideas, etc.
Given the pandemic circumstances, Malmö in the World and the World in Malmö is presented online at SSDD website and will be exhibited following all recommendations from the authorities at our venue, RE:DO at Augustemborgstorget.
